Hello,
Recently I've run into the following issue in Workstation 9. I have Kubuntu 13.04 64-bit guest running on Windows 7 64-bin. When I've tried to switch to AMD-V virtualization mode I've received the following message:
"Preferred mode unavailable. Using binary translation instead. This host supports AMD-V, but the AMD-V implementation is incompatible with VMware Workstation."
My procesor is AMD Turion Neo X2 L625 which according to AMD supports this feature. Also I've made sure that it is enabled in BIOS settings.
My question is what exactly this message means? I've tried google with no effect although search suggestions indicate that I'm not the only one who encountered this. Does anyone know is this caused by:
- Limited capabilites of Workstation 9?
- Hardware?
- Host system?
- Other configuration options?
