I have provisioned the Apache Big Data cluster from VCAC using BDE 1.1 and VCO but the provisioned cluster is not showing up in the items tab.

my environment include: vcloud & vco 5.5.

i Tried to create an ovf template with custom properties that i will use at the vco workflows.

i Make a download of vApp template from the catalogs menu at vcloud, edited the ovf and added category and property elements At the productsection.

i Make update to the .mf file with the new hash key. And uploaded the new template.

Now i get into the problem:

when looking at the properties of the uploaded vm (at vcloud) some properties are missing.

when i make initiate new vapp from template all the properties are there according to my ovf.

when i try to read the xml at vco some properties are missing.

i Can't figure up why some of the properties doesn't show up.

Б. Как зачистить "свободное место", т.е. если раньше обычным способом удалил файлы, но свободное место еще остается .

Хосты: ESX 4.1 и ESXi 5.5

Хранилища :

1. разные массивы adaptec raid внутри хоста с разными дисками sata, sas, hdd, ssd.

2. iSCSI

3. Диски подключенные напрямую к sas\sata HBA , например к чипсету интел.

Есть какие то особенности для SSD (кроме износа) ?

utilizzando VMware Converter Standalone all'ultima versione  convertendo un xp pro sp3 per vmware player ver. 4.00 , la trasformazione non è andata a buon fine e l'errore riportatato è il 1450.

Ho rilanciato il processo replicando lo stesso errore

il software di conversione e la destinazione sono sulla stessa macchina da convertire.

I have complete setup of vCAC appliance and IAAS component on Internal Network and domain, now wanted to extend it to external Public domain with Public Certificates.

I tried to point public Domain to the NATed IP`s but this is not working!!!! Could not locate useful information out of pools of Documents.

Has anyone tried doing this?

Столкнулся с проблемой:

если создавать пул виртуальных машин на основе связанных клонов, то sysprep отрабатыват нормально, и в ВМ (Win7x64EN) удаётся авторизоваться без проблем.

Если же сделать на основе того же "золотого" образа шаблон, и разворачивать пул виртуальных машин на его основе (соответственно, уже не связанных клонов, а обычных Full VM), то в созданные ВМ невозможно войти ни под каким пользователем (в т.ч. и локальным администратором).

Чую, что решение проблемы здесь в какой-то мелочи, которую упустил, но что-то ни память, ни поиск не помогли пока его найти.

Just passed the IaaS (VCPVCD510) which has given me the VCP-Cloud. I would have expected to see a renewed VCP3 / VCP4-DCV / VCP5-DCV, but neither has.

Is that expected ?

I've successfully generated a self-signed certificate for the appliance and it's working fine in a web browser.

I don't understand where this certificate (CN=dhcp-194, OU=1266660104, O=MyCompany, L=Seattle, S=WA, C=FR Thumbprint: 6EB430BFDC22C9C8778F76B45150D2BC78BF2636) comes from, I can't find it in the keystore or anywhere in the appliance.

Does anybody have encountered the same issue ?

I have a challenge in that i need to programmatically identify when a piece of code is running within a VM environment so i can effectively licence my product.

Looking at the SDK i can see there is a UUID which if i could get at it would be the best thing for me - but i cant find a way of accessing it from the guest VM (Windows or Linux).

Anyone know how i can do this or alternatively uniquely identify a VM within a vSphere or vCenter installation from C ?

We have a problem with our vdp and after two days of reading manuals and kb article we dont know what to do anymore.

We have ESX 5.1 and vCenter 5.1 and using also the 2TB Data Protection 5.1.

The VDP is working to backup the hole machines and also to recover them without a problem.

But if we want to use the FLR option it doesn't work and we have no clue why.

What we tested right now was for example we made a backup from our vcenter and than from the vcenter we tryed to access the https:vdp-ip:8543/flr/ on the webinterface we tried the basic login and also the advanced login but both don't work.

We always get the message : "login failed cannot find vm at ip-of-vm".

We checked the firewall it is off. We also tried it from another client but no success and we can also see under restore in the webclient from vcenter the restorepoint of the full backup machines.

In the webclient on the vc we also the data protection and can connect and work with it.

Has anybody a clue?

The basic login we tried with: local administrator user and password, with domain\administrator, localmachinename\administrator

The advanced login we tried with: domain\administrator (which is taken in the configuration of the vdp to connect to vc which is working).

noting want to working and we dont find a error or logfiles to work with it.

I want to create an advanced service that calls out to a vCO workflow. Simple enough, it works fine.

However I now want to add some validation to the blueprint forms before the user hits 'submit'. This falls into two areas...

1. There are a number of boolean form fields, I need to make sure these are 'ticked' before the form can be submitted (the user agrees to some conditions etc)

Now the form field constraints only seem to be able to make fields mandatory (and that doesn't apply to booleans anyway), not be able to check for a mandatory value ('Yes' in this case).

I can obviously check them as part of the workflow, but then it has to be failed and the user re-input the request again.

2. I have another field that I want to make searchable in a SQL database, I'm thinking I want to call out to a powershell script to achieve this, but if I make the search field of entity type Powershell:xx there is no obvious way of specifying what you want to call? The help files aren't much help either. Any pointers please?

We have a configuration where multiple VMware virtual machines(VM) form a cluster and they are sharing a virtual disk created on VMFS datastore. As part of cluster management operations, cluster requires to validate the WWN ID of a virtual disk created on VMFS datastore. To get WWN ID, we use SG_IO scsi ioctl call. Unfortunately we are unable to get the WWN ID of a virtual disk inside of virtual machine running Redhat Enteripise Linux 6.4 version. The attached figure shows the configuration we have.


Could you please let us know if there is any method such as SCSI ioctl command available to get the WWN ID of the virtual disk from the VMware guest OS?


If it is not possible to get the WWN ID of the virtual disk from the VMware guest OS, is there any other identifier(UUID or something else) which can be used from VMware guest virtual machine to uniquely identify the virtual disk? 

i have two problems

- the first problem is:

i lost the password of ESXi 5 on host with username root  

- the second problem is:

when i try to access the active directory the windows is down

so we revert current "snapshot"

after the server run we can't find our data

I want to refer to the situation before the problem occurred

пытался удалить Delete from disk но удаление остановилось на 95% и уже висит больше трех дней.

место в храниище освободилось но машина присутствует в консоле vCenter

I am attempting to get RTAV working using the 2.2 Linux client (latest available in the partners repo).  The only place it appears to be available is through the Ubuntu partners repository.  Right now, I am simply trying to confirm whether or not the RTAV components are included in the client distributed through Ubuntu.

In this blog post: http://blogs.vmware.com/euc/2013/11/vmware-horizon-view-real-time-audio-video-rtav-part-2.html it states that it should "just work", but in the Linux Client Documentation at: https://www.vmware.com/pdf/horizon-view/horizon-view-client-linux-document.pdf regarding RTAV it states "Note that this feature is available only with the version of Horizon View Client for Linux provided by third-party vendors."

So, how do I get a copy of the latest available Linux client and be sure that it has RTAV support?
